The COVID-19 pandemic brought new challenges to reach out to prospective students while making sure communications campus-wide were clear, concise, and informative. Our MarCom team pulled together quickly to create campaigns for initiatives and programs, and earning a place among the COVID Response from the 2020 Educational Digital Marketing Awards. Check out our COVID Response entry.
One of our biggest initiatives of the 2019-2020 school year was to transform our identity into a consistent brand; our logo had undergone changes along with a new athletics division (2) and mascot. Together, we worked across external and internal networks to create consistent marketing guidance on our website and intranet, that included colors, fonts, school-specific icons, and patterns.
Starting off with a brand guide, we began to blast awareness emails to the D’Youville community, and investing a “Tell Your Story” ticket system funnel, designed to get us stories in a fast and efficient manner.
We designed a fully functional internal network with places to download logo’s, grab hex colors, templates, order business cards, and learn what each department was responsible for. As Sharepoint was new to the college when we started, our department served as a visual goal when our IT team started teaching others.
Our internal communications not only included our intranet, but digital displays placed around campus ensuring we got the word out whether it be classes, athletics, or the implementation of new apps.
Our Day of Giving video was the end result of a social media campaign with a beginning, check-ins, and as seen below, the thank you. Full videos can be accessed through Youtube, starting with the first preview.
Our Happy Holidays video for 2017 was the first ever for D’Youville and our newly formed MarCom team, giving a shout out out to memorable holiday videos while our Occupational Therapy student ran through campus.
